Visiting Murchison Falls National Park: Murchison Falls National Park is the largest and oldest national park in Uganda. It is also known as the Kabarega National Park. The park is located in north-western Uganda and covers an area of about 4000 square kilometers with many attractions to be encountered during your tour to Uganda, Murchison falls national park harbors 76 mammal species, reptiles, over 450 bird species, different tree species, the  Nile River, Murchison falls and many more panoramic views.

he park is well known for its amazing wildlife despite being ravaged by poachers. The park is home to four of the big five’s; Buffalos, Elephants, Lions and Leopards. The park was also home to Rhinos but they became extinct due to poaching and hunting during the sixties and the seventies. However Rhinos are again being bred to be introduced in the park. Other animals that are present in the park include Hippopotamus, Giraffes, Antelopes, Uganda Kob, Hartebeest and Oribi.

Tourist Activities at the Murchison Falls National Park

There are quite a number of adventurous activities that can be carried out by visitors at the park and these include; Game drives, Birding, exploring the popular top of the falls, the Nile Launch cruise, hiking and nature walks, sport fishing, cultural encounters of the different tribes surrounding the park like the Acholi and Banyoro tribes, Sport fishing among others.

Park entry fees at Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison falls national park is governed by the Uganda wildlife authority a body that is responsible for all national parks and conservation areas in Uganda, the parks entry fee prices are most times valid for two years but can be subject to change anytime.
