DAY1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest which is located in the Southwestern Uganda, in Kanungu district on the edge of Albertan Rift a drive that takes approximately 8-9hrs. Although Bwindi is a habitat to other animals like the bush bucks, antelopes, forest duiker a variety of bird species which include African green broad-bill, white-tailed blue flycatcher, brown-necked parrot, white-bellied robin chat and Frazer’s eagle owl, the park is most famous for the Mountain Gorillas with a variety of families which gives you an opportunity to choose the family to track when buying the gorilla permit. Arrive the park late in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Gorilla Trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Arise early in the morning, have early morning breakfast and then head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the Dos, Don’ts and how to track the Gorillas. Trek through this thick forest with the help of an armed ranger guide in search for the gorillas and once you find them, you are given a full hour to interact and watch these beautiful animals. On your way, other primates likely to be seen include the red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons and some bird species which include the African green broad-bill, White-tailed blue flycatcher, Brown necked parrot, White-bellied Robin chat and among others. After drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving late in the evening.

Day3: Game drive and Boat cruise

Have a cup of coffee and go for an early morning game drive. During this game drive you will catch up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts and others going to hunt for what to eat. During the game drive, you are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas, bushbucks, water bucks, stripped jackal, leopard and of course several warthogs. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax by the side of the swimming pool. After lunch, take an afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga channel. This will give you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippos bath just meters away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows, elephants, and many more. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to the lodge.

DAY 4:  2nd Game drive and transfer to Kibale National Park

Wake up early in the morning and have a second game drive to view other animals which you might have missed on the first one. You will also visit the ishasha sector to search for the tree climbing lion something making the second game drive so special. The Ishasha sector is actually today very famous because of its mystifying population of the tree climbing lions that are very exceptional attraction and as well one of the major highlights for which most guests visit the park. The lions are normally seen lazily lying up within the branches of the huge fig trees staring down at the numerous Uganda kobs while grazing.

After Lunch, drive to Kibale Forest which is one of the stunning and beautiful forests in Uganda. Kibale Forest is located in Western Uganda, about15-20 minutes south-east of Fort portal. Kibale forest is one with the highest density and diversity of primate species totaling to around 13 that include Red-colobus, Blue, Red-tailed and Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Black and white colobus monkey, I’hoesti monkey. Relax at the lodge preparing for the chimpanzee tracking the next day.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Kampala.
After morning breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu where most activities begin from. It’s a starting point for tracking the chimpanzees, an approximately 1-5hrs activity. Unlike most other primates, chimpanzees don’t live in troops, but instead form extended communities of up to 100 individuals. You will be able to see other primates like threatened Red-colobus monkey and Rare I’hoesti monkey, Blue, Red-tailed and Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Black and white colobus monke and the Bush babies. Have lunch and transfer to Kampala or Entebbe to catch up with your flight.

You can choose to have a night in Kampala and fly out the next day. (This is payable by the client)
