Bwindi National Park was gazetted in 1991 and then declared a world heritage site in 1994. It supports a minimum of 400 mountain gorillas of which ten groups of these are habituated and dedicated for gorilla trekking in her gorilla trekking regions of Buhoma where Mubare, Rushegura and Habinyanja are found, the Ruhija region where Oruzogo, Bitukura and Kyaguliro are found, Rushaga where Mishaya, Nshongi, Bweza, Busingye and Kahungye are found and eventually Nkuringo where the Nkuringo gorilla family is found.

Drive for 77 kilometers and make a stop at the equator where the world is divided into the Northern hemisphere and the Southern hemisphere. Carry out the water experiment to prove the forces that bisects the world and also take magnificent photos while one leg is the northern hemispheres while the other in the southern hemisphere.

After this unforgettable experience, proceed for a well prepared local cuisine at Igongo cultural center. This local food is organically grown and prepared in a local way just to give you wonderful taste rarely found anywhere else.

The walk is beyond the ordinary as it involves traversing the dense jungle whose thickness would at some points necessitate using a machete to make a path, hiking the challenging landscapes some of which are steep and slippery at times under the canopy of the mature forest which forms darkness even during the day. You are treated to the impressive bird songs and beautiful flowers through the experience. The search for the gorillas takes 1-8 hours depending on the where the gorillas spent the night and their movements. After finding the gorillas, an hour is availed to you to have a direct touch with the gorillas.

After your one hour with the gorillas, return to the starting point and connect to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening, visit the locals. They have magical songs and dancing styles which definitely make your evening colorful.
